What is the “Meat” that You Hunger for?

I bring Grace and Peace to each one of you in the name of Jesus the Savior of the world!

As I write to you today I know it has been a while since my last message and I pray that each and everyone who reads this today has come to the understanding of how much God loves them and that He wants more than anything for you to enjoy life the way He meant it to be!

As I awoke today my thoughts went back to a subject that has always intrigued me and that is the fact why people in the organized church today move from church to church.  In talking with these I hear the same thing that I used to say when doing the same thing.  I am just not getting fed when I go there.  As I look back now it was the wrong meat that was being served.  Thank God for the Grace message for when I dine at the Lords table I never go hungry.

To expound on this further I want to bring you to a story in the book of John.

John 4:31-33 (MSG)

31 In the meantime, the disciples pressed him, "Rabbi, eat. Aren't you going to eat?"
32 He told them, "I have food to eat you know nothing about."
33 The disciples were puzzled. "Who could have brought him food?"

What I want you to see here is Jesus said “I have food to eat you know nothing about.”
To understand this lets go back to the beginning of John 4 where Jesus had left Judea to go to Galilee and had to go through Samaria to get there.  Jesus was physically tired took rest at Jacobs well and the disciples went into the city to find food.  Even though there is a lot more to be learned from this passage lets go back and read what it tells us.

John 4:7-15  (MSG)

7-8 A woman, a Samaritan, came to draw water. Jesus said, "Would you give me a drink of water?" (His disciples had gone to the village to buy food for lunch.)
9 The Samaritan woman, taken aback, asked, "How come you, a Jew, are asking me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?" (Jews in those days wouldn't be caught dead talking to Samaritans.)
10Jesus answered, "If you knew the generosity of God and who I am, you would be asking me for a drink, and I would give you fresh, living water."
11-12The woman said, "Sir, you don't even have a bucket to draw with, and this well is deep. So how are you going to get this 'living water'? Are you a better man than our ancestor Jacob, who dug this well and drank from it, he and his sons and livestock, and passed it down to us?"
13-14Jesus said, "Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again and again. Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst—not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life."
15 The woman said, "Sir, give me this water so I won't ever get thirsty, won't ever have to come back to this well again!"

I know we are talking on the subject of meat but Hunger and Thirst always presents itself at the same time.  Let’s drop down a few more verses and see what is says there.

John 4:21-24 (MSG)

21-23 "Believe me, woman, the time is coming when you Samaritans will worship the Father neither here at this mountain nor there in Jerusalem. You worship guessing in the dark; we Jews worship in the clear light of day. God's way of salvation is made available through the Jews. But the time is coming it has, in fact, come when what you're called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter.

23-24 "It's who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration."

After this the Jesus told the woman that He was the messiah that she had spoken of and she left her pot and ran into the city telling others of this man who spoke these words.

Now we are back at the beginning where the disciples were asking each other where Jesus found food.  As we look again in John we find the answer.

John 4:34-35 (MSG)

34-35 Jesus said, "The food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One who sent me, finishing the work he started. As you look around right now, wouldn't you say that in about four months it will be time to harvest? Well, I'm telling you to open your eyes and take a good look at what's right in front of you. These Samaritan fields are ripe. It's harvest time!

Eat from your Fathers table; you will never grow hungry or thirsty again.  Rest in that Jesus is the tithe and that there is always “meat” in God’s house.

After the Samaritan woman went back and told others of what had happened they returned themselves to see Jesus and asked him to stay with them. They had found the truth.  As we read further in John we find the secret that was revealed to them so lets read on.

John 4: 39-42 (MSG)

39-42 Many of the Samaritans from that village committed themselves to him because of the woman's witness: "He knew all about the things I did. He knows me inside and out!" They asked him to stay on, so Jesus stayed two days. A lot more people entrusted their lives to him when they heard what he had to say. They said to the woman, "We're no longer taking this on your say-so. We've heard it for ourselves and know it for sure. He's the Savior of the world!"

“Jesus the Savior of the World!”

In Hebrews you will also find;

Hebrews 13:8-9 (MSG)

8 For Jesus doesn't change—yesterday, today, tomorrow, he's always totally himself.       9 Don't be lured away from him by the latest speculations about him. The grace of Christ is the only good ground for life. Products named after Christ don't seem to do much for those who buy them.

Jesus in his own words in John 6 says it this way, "I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever.

For those who are living under the law or in mixture which is no better will always hunger and thirst and will always be looking for more feeling empty or need for more substance.  Look no further the Gospel of Grace, Jesus nothing more nothing less will fulfill your hunger and your thirst.  So come and dine at your Father’s table and rest in knowing that all has been taken care of for you!

God Loves You!
